After playing Blood Bowl on PC, Nintendo DS and in the form of the card game Blood Bowl Team Manager for a while it is time to gear up for a new season on the real turf.
In a first step I touched up the paint job of my Dwarf team which I originally painted nearly 20 years ago with a selection of decidedly dodgy paints (including water colours and a yellowing varnish). Still, I was quite happy with the overall look so I just refreshed some of the colours and painted the bases.
Next I drew up a team roster according to the 5th edition of the Living Rulebook.
- 5 Blockers = 350k
- 2 Runners = 160k
- 2 Blitzers = 160k
- 2 Troll Slayers = 180k
- 1 Apothecary = 50k
- 2 Re-rolls = 80k
- 2 Fan Factor = 20k
TOTAL = 1,000,000 gold coins
This new line up meant that I had to paint up a second runner, which didn’t take long.
Now the Karak Hirn Hammers are ready for action!
Having no substitutes to start the season with is not the most comfortable of situations, but the re-rolls and the Apothecary will hopefully prevent serious casualties until the treasury is filled up.
